Adolescent Sessions

These are challenging times and especially challenging for teens and preteens. Since the spring of 2020 kids have faced the difficulties of isolation, lost opportunities, less physical exercise, unhealthy eating, less in-person social interaction, and the overuse of social media/screentime. Kids may feel disconnected from in-person connections and immense pressure to live up to the impossible standards they see online. The challenges all add up to a generation struggling with anxiety, depression, and lack of focus. These issues play out in many different ways but at the end of the day they most often just want to be heard and understood.

Individual therapy during this developmental stage involves patient listening and understanding. It is important to hear the problem from the child's perspective and experience.

It can be hard to admit that your child is struggling or dealing with emotional or relational problems. Remember though, they are not the only one in their age group to struggle with these issues.

Today’s youth are under a great deal of stress and are often silenced by their many social pressures.

Providing them with the opportunity to take part in Christian counseling allows them the opportunity to further develop skills that promote self-worth and emotional health. Counseling for adolescents helps them improve their overall functioning at home, school, within the family, and with peers and relationships.

Adolescent Therapy is intended to help your child learn to manage the stressors and pressures of life. Together, we will talk through God's good intention for their life and identify the reasons behind your child's emotional struggles and create a plan to help them meet their full potential.
